I was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, where I grew up with my parents and two younger siblings. My younger sister attended Casa, which is where I was first introduced to the Montessori method. During my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I worked as a camp counselor, where I discovered my love for working with children. In my senior year, I began working at a nearby Montessori school in their aftercare program while completing my own classes. After graduating, I attended Loyola University Maryland for two years as an education major before deciding to return home to work so I could continue my education. I remained at the Montessori school for five years before transferring to Marymount University to complete my degree. Along the way, I changed my major to Child Psychology, with hopes of earning my master’s degree and becoming a school counselor—combining my passion for working with children and helping others. I currently work at Casa in the aftercare program whenever I am not in class, and I truly enjoy supporting the children and watching them grow and learn.
